Description

Location.
The Villa La Massa is located in Florence, Italy, on the banks of the river Arno, within four kilometres of the Chianti district and eight kilometres of the historic centre of Florence, Ponte Vecchio. Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station is 10 kilometres away.

Hotel Features.
Surrounded by 22 acres of parkland, this hotel is housed in three historic mansions. Built in the 16th century the Villa La Massa has been home to several aristocratic families and features decor typical of the Medici period. The treatment room offers a range of massages and beauty services to guests. Complimentary parking is available and there is a daily shuttle service to/from Ponte Vecchio in Florence.

Il Verrochio serves traditional Tuscan and national dishes using local and organic produce from the region and hotel gardens. The restaurant features a fireplace and a terrace overlooking the river. From Firenze Peretola Airport (FLR):
Distance to Villa La Massa is 33 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.


Getting there.
Taxis to the hotel cost approximately 50 EUR, or private transfer can be arranged by the hotel. An airport bus departs for Florence's Santa Maria Novella Station every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. The hotel is 10 kilometres away from the train station. Terravision coaches also travel to central Florence. Tickets cost 12 EUR, and the price includes a one-day pass for Florence's city buses. Prices are all subject to change.


Getting around.
Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre, and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Tickets are sold based on length of time, and are available for one, two or 24 hours. There is a taxi rank in front of Santa Maria Novella Station. Bicycle rentals are also available at the hotel.


Driving directions. Depart Firenze Peretola airport. Follow the signs to the highway A1/E35 towards Roma. Take exit to Firenze Sud. Follow the signs for Bagno a Ripoli-Pontassieve. In Candeli, turn left at the traffic light and take Via Della Massa to the hotel.
