Description

Location.
Set opposite a 50-metre-high cliff dropping to the Bay of Naples, the modern Hotel Mediterraneo has typical Mediterranean styling and lies less than two kilometres from Sorrento centre. Naples (Capodichino) Airport (NAP) is 50 kilometres from the hotel.

Hotel Features.
The Hotel Mediterraneo retains much of its century-old atmosphere, evoked through its high ceilings and Murano-glass chandeliers from the early 20th century. The garden courtyard is surrounded by orange and palm trees and contains a pool with jetted section and fountain, and a separate children's area. An elevator descends from the hotel to a black-sand beach.

The Mediterraneo's top-floor restaurant has wicker furniture and offers sweeping views of the Bay of Naples, Sorrentine Peninsula, Capri, and Mount Vesuvius. It serves local, Neapolitan, and international dishes and features a traditional Neapolitan dinner with live music on Monday nights.

Hotel Mediterraneo has a reserved area on the black-sand beach below. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for a fee, as are pedal boats.

Driving Directions
A taxi from the airport to Sant'Agnello costs approximately EUR 100. Buses go from the airport to Sant'Agnello town centre, where taxis are stationed. Buses also run to Naples' central train station, where the Circumvesuviana train goes to Sant'Agnello. A hydrofoil goes from Naples Harbour to Sorrento. Driving directions: From the airport follow signs to Hwy A3 Salerno/Reggio C. Take the exit marked Castellammare di Stabia. Follow the signs to Penisola Sorrentina (Sorrentine Peninsula) and enter the village of Sant'Agnello. At the main square there is a sign pointing to the hotel. Turn right and follow the signs to hotel.
